There are a ton of reasons to love Editor, but here are out top five:
1. Bulk Edits
The biggest benefit of Editor is the ability to make a lot of changes very quickly! Sure, you can use Google’s API to make something really sleek to manage your bulk edits, but for those of us that aren’t technical and don’t have large marketing and dev teams, the API is really overwhelming. You can make and upload bulk changes in a flash, saving time and reducing the possibility for errors. This is really helpful for the times when you want to add a promo code to an ad, test a new call-to-action, or make sweeping seasonally-related changes.
2. Work Offline
Being able to work offline with Editor means that you can modify and update ads, keywords, and bids no matter where you are. Gone are the days of having to deal solely with the AdWords interface (and that annoying message that randomly pops up telling you that the AdWords interface needs to be refreshed). With Editor, you can work in a standalone environment that doesn’t have any internet or network requirements. This also means that you can makes changes as recommendations and propose them to other team members or account owners before finalizing them. The result is better collaboration and a true grace period to evaluate proposed changes before committing to them. This is a big difference from the AdWords interface where all changes are live in real-time.
3. Review Changes
The ability to review changes before they’re posted means that you essentially have a staging ground where you can check on everything before pushing it live. This is a great feature for teams because it allows multiple users to be working on accounts simultaneously without creating any overlapping or conflicting account modifications. It also leads to more accuracy because any changes have to be verified before pushing them live.
4. Intuitive to Use
Editor is really easy to use… once you get the hang of it. Spend a little bit of time playing around with a test account before you open your real business account in there and start tinkering. You’ll find that the interface is actually really intuitive. Furthermore, the different tabs and fields are laid out similarly to your actual AdWords account, which makes it fairly easy to make the jump from one to the other.
5. Free
It’s one thing to look for an account management tool that works really well for your business needs, but trying to find that in a free tool is often next to impossible. If reasons 1-4 didn’t convince you to try Editor, this one should persuade you. Give it a shot – you have nothing to lose!
Google doesn’t give too many things away for free, which is why a tool that’s as robust as Editor being provided without charge is so great!
